TalkBack is an accessibility feature on Samsung Galaxy devices that provides spoken feedback for users with visual impairments.
While it’s a useful tool, some users may accidentally enable it and find it difficult to navigate their phone.

Disable TalkBack On Galaxy S25
To disable TalkBack on your Samsung galaxy S25, you can use three methods to deactivate Talkback.
Using the TalkBack Shortcuts
Samsung devices allow you to disable TalkBack quickly using a shortcut, depending on which one you chose to use. Here’s are the three options:
- Simultaneously press both the Side key and Volume Up buttons.
- Press and hold both Volume Up and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds.
- Accessibility Gesture: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen with 2 fingers.
You will hear a voice confirmation that TalkBack has been turned off in each instance.
Note: If this shortcut doesn’t work, ensure that the TalkBack Shortcut is enabled in the TalkBack settings.
Disabling TalkBack via Settings
If the TalkBack shortcut isn’t working, you can turn off TalkBack from the settings menu. Since TalkBack alters the way you interact with your phone, follow these steps carefully:
Unlock your phone (If TalkBack is active, use two fingers to swipe and navigate). To enter the apps drawer, swipe up with two fingers or swipe left with two fingers. This depends on the app launch method you’ve set.
Launch the Settings app (tap once to select, then double-tap to open). Then, scroll down and select Accessibility (use two fingers to scroll, then tap once to select and double tap to open).
Tap on TalkBack and double-tap to open.
Tap on the TalkBack toggle switch once to select it. Then double tap to turn it off.
You will be prompted to confirm your decision via pop-up. Select the Turn Off option and double-tap to finish the process.
Using Google Assistant
If navigating the settings is challenging, you can use Google Assistant:
Activate Google Assistant by saying Hey Google or holding the Side key. Say Turn off TalkBack.
Google Assistant will disable TalkBack for you.
